First 100 Days Shows Trump’s Vision for the Country Undermines the American People and Our Values

PHOENIX – Tomorrow, President Donald Trump and his administration will reach the first 100 days benchmark. Democratic candidate for U.S. senate Deedra Abboud issued the following statement:

“We do not need a long list of what President Trump has done to understand that his actions have undone policies and protections that undermine both the American people and our environment.

Mr. Trump has led his party to support rhetoric and policies that go against the very nature of who we are as Americans and what working families – regardless of immigration status – need to succeed. From a health care bill that would strip away coverage for millions to a tax reform proposal that would continue to feed the greed of real estate moguls and Wall Street corporate hawks, the president’s vision for our country clearly undermines the American people, including those who voted for him.

If we look closer at the outrageous number of executive orders President Trump has issued, they do not stand the test of time or law and jeopardize our most vulnerable communities, consumer rights, and environment.

Arizona deserves better. Our nation deserves better. And no one’s fooled. Across the country, millions of people are speaking up, holding their elected leaders accountable, rising to lead, and pushing forward with democratic values.

I stand with the majority of Americans who want to unite our country and rise above Mr. Trump’s hateful agenda with commonsense solutions and a commitment to real progress now, into 2018 and beyond.”
