A Campaign Free of Corporate Money

Deedra_Donate_FB3.pngCampaign finance reform is a must.

Citizens United was a disastrous 2010 Supreme Court decision that allowed big business to pour unlimited money into the political landscape, eroding the power of the people and giving special interests a direct highway to influencing our government.

Corporations want there to be only one way into Washington, and it’s a toll road.

Well I’ve read the Constitution, and I’m pretty sure it says “We the People” not “We the Special Interests.”

As a Candidate with a Contract signer, I have given my word, in writing, that I will work directly for you, the people of Arizona. And I will start immediately by pledging not to take any corporate money donations from the very beginning of this campaign.

Because I will have no obligations to corporations or special interests, I will work for all the people of Arizona. Not just for donors,  not just for Democrats or for those who voted for me, but for every resident of our beautiful state.  We are all shareholders in Arizona’s future, and freeing myself from the whims of big business allows me to listen directly to you.

The question always asked is how will I compete against the Corporate War Chests without also taking corporate money.

Corporations have really done a great job at convincing us that we need them.

I’m here to tell you we don’t.

Let’s break down the math.

  • There are 6,828,000 Arizona residents
  • 1,102,169 are registered as Democrat
  • 7,132 are registered as Green
  • 31,866 are registered as Libertarian
  • 1,235,911 registered as ‘other’ (including Independents)

If 1 million people gave $5 per month, that would be $5 million PER MONTH.

If 500,000 people gave $5 per month, that would be $2.5 million PER MONTH.

If 100,000 people gave $5 per month, that would be $500,000 PER MONTH.

Deedra_Donate_IG2.pngThat’s power.  That’s a power ‘We the People’ have that is totally being ignored.

It’s real grassroots.

But we will never get there by representing the extinct wing of the party that keeps running to the right instead of listening to its base. We will never get there by not listening to Independents and other third-party voices.

Some things are non-negotiable.

Equal rights and protections for all.

Rights over our own bodies.

Affordable and quality health care.

A well-funded public education system.

Separation of Church and State.

And most importantly:

Getting corporate money and special interests out of politics.

Join us today by donating $5, $10, $20, or any amount to fight for a government that works for you.
